Today Is The LAST Day Of Smallville Filming.

Some sad news...

After ten years of filming in Burnaby, BC up in Canada, Smallville finishes its time up there with the last day of shooting happening today.

We want to thank the cast and crew for doing a phenomenal job up there, and we share in the sadness that this epic time is coming to an end.

There are some fantastic people up there who work together to make a great product every week. It's really strange, at least to me, to think of that studio lot being empty... although we hear the Secret Circle pilot might be taking over some of that studio space, though that is unconfirmed. (If they are shooting there, they sure as heck better hire as many Smallville alums as possible - they're good people!)

To sum it all up in just two words... Thank You.

That would be a huge spoiler, of course, and you can understand why Smallville is locking its doors as we move closer to the finale. But I will, however, point you to a little something exec producer Brian Peterson told me last week about the finale: “At the heart of [every episode] is a very important step in Clark’s journey,” he said. “[So] while the finale wraps up storylines with the other characters, it is very, very much about Clark and his big moment of transformation.” Catch that? Key word: transformation.

ZOD (Callum blue) RETURNS IN JUSTIN HARTLEY’S DIRECTORIAL DEBUT EPISODE — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) learns that General Slade was found unconscious on a street corner, proof that someone has gained access to the Phantom Zone’s escape portal and sent him back. Clark (Tom Welling) decides to return to the exiled land to make sure other phantoms are not fleeing and is furious when Oliver (Justin Hartley) tricks Clark into taking him along. With Clark’s powers gone, the two are immediately captured by the Zoners who take them to their new leader, Zod (Callum Blue), who is thirsting for revenge on Clark for banishing him to this Kryptonian jail. JOR-EL’s BIG LESSON ON ‘SMALLVILLE’
Dying of sadness over Smallville coming to an end? Well, don’t die yet! There’s too much great stuff ahead — like the May 6 episode, “Prophecy,” which finds Clark (Tom Welling) all dressed up (in a suit!!) to take fiancée Lois (Erica Durance) to the Fortress of Solitude to break the news of his impending nuptials to his biological father, Jor-El, the tough-loving Kryptonian. “It’s a very sweet, romantic scene that has a little surprise in it,” teases exec producer Brian Peterson. When Jor-El sets out to teach the pair a lesson, Lois and Clark “find themselves kind of living a day in each other’s shoes.” AKA: Power up, Lois!

“I think Jor-El’s parenting style has always been about making Clark learn lessons for himself. And this is an episode where he is sharing that lesson not only with Clark, but also with Lois. And so it’s about seeing Lois as a possible life partner for Clark,” he says.

But that’s not the only thing going on in this “very packed” episode. It also marks the return of Laura Vandervoort as Kara, who returns to move along the season-long mythology regarding DarkSeid. “We wanted to tie things up, yet rev things up for the finale,” Peterson teases. “We also have some cameo appearances from some familiar villains that have resurfaced. And at least one hero that has resurfaced, in addition to Supergirl. There’s a lot going on in this episode, but it’s really fun.”

As the show nears the end of its 10-season run, Peterson notes that the episode “should leave people very excited about our [May 13] finale.”

Jor-El bestows a unique wedding gift on the couple – he gives Lois Clark’s super powers so she can see what it’s like to be him for a day. Unfortunately, the Toyman (guest star Chris Gautheir) has returned to Metropolis, so Lois must go up against the notorious villain instead of Clark. Meanwhile, Oliver (Justin Hartley) searches for the Bow of Orion, which he believes will remove the Omega symbol from his skull, and runs into Kara (guest star Laura Vandervoort), who is also on a mission to stop Darkseid. Wow, hier gibts den ersten offiziellen Trailer mit M. Rosenbaum, ich bin gespannt wie ein Flitzebogen auf das Finale.....

If there was ever any doubt that Lex Luthor played by Michael Rosenbaum would be back in the two-hour series finale for Smallville, the recently released video from The CW should erase it. The episode, which will air on Friday, May 13, at 8 p.m. is called, appropriately enough, "Finale," which is in keeping with the show's one-word titles. Here's the description: "After ten years, Clark Kent completes his epic voyage from freshman high school student to the Man of Steel."
